"Isobel"

in a forrest pitch-dark
glowed the tiniest spark
it burst into flame
like me
like me

my name isobel
married to myself
my love isobel
living by herself

in a heart full of dust
lives a creature called lust
it surprises and scares
like me
like me

my name isobel
married to myself
my love isobel
living by herself

when she does it she means to
moth delivers her message
unexplaind on your collar
crawling in silence
a simple excuse

nana na nana
nana na nana

in a tower of steel
nature forges a deal
to raise wonderful hell
like me

Still remember the first time I heard this song. Summer 1995. Ordered a subscription of Huh Music Magazine and it came with a CD and this was the first track on it. Wow.

These beats reminds me some Brazilian songs. I heard Björk was inspired by Elis Regina, a great Brazilian singer, when writing and composing this amazing song.

The hardly heard flute around 2:15 always lifts me up.

I'm pretty sure that Radiohead got inspired by this song for "Lucky" from Ok Computer

i can't remember how many times i played this song the night bought the disc that summer of 95, but it had to be dozens. Never before (or since, for that matter) had I ever heard such a HUGE song..huge in the sense that it is so very grandiose in its production and instrumentation. Strings, strong back beats, lush vocals, and a person whistling...all arranged to give this song the kind of sonic feel that rushes over you like a waterfall.

just brilliant....

Can't believe I've been a biork fan for over 7 years and I'm just now getting around to Post. This might very well be my favorite song of hers now. What a discovery. Masterpiece!!!

20 years of listening to this song. So much has changed and there's still so much to look forward to. I'm not the kind of person who lives in the past. This song invites the listener to a world, in a universe parallel to this one. It exists outside of what humans call time and space. Unexplained on your collar, crawling in silence, a simple excuse. Nah nah nah naah

nah nah nah nah nahhhh
nah nah nah nah naaah
nAh nah nah nah nhaaa

Gonna have to say ... that same summer of '95 ... I fell in love with this entire album, Post. I only discovered Bjork because of, yes, that lackluster Hollywood hit, Tank Girl. Helped me find Portishead, as well. Second best Soundtrack in the last 20 years. The first being Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet. But. This is how music used to work in the 90's. Now, there are no limits ...

This song got me into Björk - bought Post because of it, and wasn't disappointed. :-)

Ignore the vocals, focus on the weird industrial sounds. Great simple synth and sound design

I always have a sort of out-of-body experience at 2:09 in this one
