'oral' by björk ft. rosalía

Björk and Rosalía are donating all their rights to income generated by this song to the AEGIS non-profit organisation to combat open pen fish farming in Iceland. Their record companies have agreed to do the same. All funds raised will support legal fees for protesters, taking action to stop the development of intensive farms that harm wildlife, deform fish, and pose risks to salmon's DNA and survival. Immediate action is crucial.

Written & produced by Björk
Additional production and additional vocal arrangement by Rosalía
Additional beat production by Sega Bodega and Noah Goldstein
Additional Engineering by David Rodriguez
Mixed and mastered by Heba Kadry

This was actually originally recorded solo by Bjork in the late 90s, but considered too poppy for Homogenic or Vespertine. I'm glad she's decided to finally release it!

If I had been told 20 years ago that the future would be Björk being a martial artist fighting a talented upcoming Spanish artist using deepfake technology to raise money to save the fish... I would have believed it. Everything about it is perfect, the harmony and their voices sound heavenly.

EDIT: wow didn't notice my comment got almost 10k likes. For all of those who seem deeply hurt and traumatized by the use of "upcoming artist". I lived years in Barcelona and I have been a huge fan of La Rosalía since El Mal Querer, I know she's big, but she wasn't 20 years ago. English is also not my mother tongue, so everyone take a deep breath, calmémonos y disfrutemos ¡tra, tra!

I’m impressed at how well Rosalía embodied Björk’s phrasing, pace and lyric delivery. They blended seamlessly.

This simultaneously gives me 90s, 2010s, 2020s and 2050s vibes. So futuristic yet so retro

we are blessed to exist on this planet at the same time as bjork

It's always a blessing to see people actually fighting for the good of the nature. Thank you, Bjork!

the lyrics really do remind me of what it felt like to start falling in love with my friend. not knowing if the flirting was casual jokes or not, not wanting to escalate things in fear of ruining what we had already ("there's a line there, i cant cross it"), desperately pining in what i THOUGHT was silence until he asked to make it official in november. i really like this song.

Feels like Rosalia was a time traveler meeting Björk in the past and matching with her music in a perfect way.
Love it, and love both of them.

The way this song progress and magically feels like it's 7 minutes long just because the mind can make up whatever it wants

Björk, forever the uncanny valley queen. I've always loved the sense of weirdness that her videos always gave to me.

In 1987, I found Björk in a band called the Sugarcubes and have loved and been challenged by her music, art and voice ever since. I was 17 back then and quit high school. Bjork was a few years older but remains an ageless enchanting spiirt representing the joy in my life.

Pensar que cuando Rosalía cantaba por las plazas de Barcelona por unas monedas, Bjork ya tenía compuesta esta canción que ahora canta con ella. Los sueños se cumplen si se trabaja por ellos. Grande Rosalía ❤
