► ABOUT THIS HIKE
In January 2024 I hiked for 4 days in the National Parks near Sydney, Australia: The Blue Mountains, Wollemi and Kanangra, collectively called the Greater Blue Mountains. I hiked Mount Solitary, explored a narrow gorge in Wollemi, and explored the Kanangra Walls and part of the K2K trek. I short improvised trip with some beautiful scenery. There is no travel guide for this trip.

This is an ambient film without dialog.

As an Australian I've seen a lot of videos and stills of the Blue Mountains, but none so amazingly beautiful as through your eyes. You are a master film maker Harmen. As always, absolutely stunning footage. Thanks for visiting Australia 🇦🇺.

Harmen, I'm just blown away. You tell such a powerful story without saying a word. The drone footage is simply incredible. You're at the top of your craft, thank you for all you do.

Hello Harmen! I just wanted to write that your videos inspire me to create my own content. I am a local mountain guide and photographer in Sudeten Mountains, Poland. The natural next step was film making. I started working in my immediate area because I live in beautiful mountains, in one of the national parks in Poland. You are doing a good job and your videos have a big impact on many people around the world. Great job, keep it up and thanks a lot!

I used to live in the Blue Mountains. I had to move away a few years ago. I often miss it. The sunsets, the forests, the cold misty air, the raw nature of it all. I think I left my heart there.

some people can hike but cannot make a film. some people can make a film but cannot hike. but to be able to hike AND film it with this much passion is just special. You totally got it.

I grew up in the Blue Mountains, would always hike and ride my mountain bike whenever I had the chance, I've since moved away for work, your beautiful video has made me miss home.

I saw a comment on a completely seperate video, stating that the landscapes in Australia always look so vast and big, stretching out beyond the horizon. As an Australian I often think, although we haven't got the highest peaks, there is something so grand and beautiful about it all. Being able to go through pockets of forgotten rainforests amidst a sparse eucalyptus forest, all surrounded in a haze of blue, is truely wonderful.
Plus our birds are awesome.

As someone who has been in the Blue Mountains for 4 years these videos really capture the essence of it .. the silence, the contrasts, the expanse but also the confines .. the changing light, sounds and weather. It amazes me still that all of this is less than 90 mins drive from a city of 5+ million people

So peaceful and tranquil...

...right up until the drone starts buzzing around.

Keep it at home, thanks.

My dear brother Harmen, as a strict follower of yours, I think you are a very, very good man, even though I never hear your voice. as nature lover and a walker, I watch all your videos with pleasure, I am grateful to you for these beautiful shares. You take me to the ends of the world while watching you. In my country, in the city of Rize in Turkey, there are countless routes in the Kaçkar Mountains that you should see. Since the Kaçkar Mountains are a remnant of the ice age, there are great routes without people at approximately 3000-4000 meters. I strongly recommend that you plan a very nice route of 100-150 miles in length where you will take quality shots. I wanted to do you a favor by recommending this route because I thought you are a very good man.

Harmen, having just watched this stunning video of the landscape I call home, I'm keenly aware of how beautifully you capture and present the essence of a place. You are 'tuned in' and talented and it's wonderful to see a place I love through your eyes.
