► ABOUT THIS HIKE
In March-April 2023, I hiked the Three Passes Trek in Nepal in 16 days. During the trek, I was accompanied by a guide and porter from Himalayan Glacier. I flew from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860m / 9,383ft) and spent the night in Phakding (2,610m / 8,563ft) before continuing on to Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,286ft) the following day. After an acclimatization day in Namche, I hiked to the Tengboche Monastery (3,870m / 12,697ft) where I camped for the night. The next day, I hiked to Dingboche (4,360m / 14,304ft) where I experienced snowfall overnight. The day after that, I did an acclimatization hike to Nangkartshang peak (5,083m, 16,676ft).
The following day, which happened to be my birthday, I hiked to Chukhung (4,730m / 15,518ft) and did another acclimatization hike to Chukhung Ri (5,559m, 18,238ft). The next morning, we crossed the first pass, Kongma La Pass (5,535m / 18,159ft), crossed the Khumbu Glacier (the highest glacier in the world), and spent the night in Lobuche (4,940m / 16,207ft).
On day 9, I hiked to Gorak Shep (5,140m / 16,863ft), the highest official overnight stop on the trek, and then did a day hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364m / 17,598ft). The next day, I climbed Kalapatthar (5,644m / 18,519ft) at sunrise, and then got to Dzongla for the night (4,710m / 15,453ft). On day 11, we crossed over the second pass, Cho La Pass (5,420m / 17,782ft), to get to Gokyo (4,790m / 15,719ft), which involved crossing the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas at 36km / 22mi. I spent the night at Fitzroy Inn overlooking Gokyo Third Lake (Gokyo Lake). The next day, I hiked up to Gokyo Ri (5,357m / 17,575ft), where I camped for the night overlooking four 8,000m+ peaks, including Mount Everest. My highest night ever!
From Gokyo I passed over the third and final pass another night later: Renjo La Pass (5,360m / 17,585ft). Descending down into the valley we made it to the small town of Marlung (4,210m / 13,812ft). On day 15 we got back to Namche Bazaar, spent the night and hiked back to Lukla for the final night on trail.

This is an ambient film without dialog.

I'm 32, chasing my tail in the corporate world. Every time I see such slow paced experiential videos of the mountains, I have tears rolling down my eyes. It's like there's a deep yearning for what seems unattainable at times. I'm grateful for your efforts in creating this video 🙏

To watch this on a phone should be a crime. Cast it to a big nice TV with good speakers. You’ll feel like you’re right there with Harmen. Amazing quality. Thank you

I did this hike, almost 1:1 around 8 years ago, just before the earthquake. I'm a man, and I can comfortably say that I cry when I watch this video. It's pure emotion that i feel at sites, sounds and experiences that are so overwhelmingly wonderful.

This is by far the best video about trekking in the Himalayas ever! You have caught the beauty of the mountains and the balsam for the soul they provide perfectly. No disturbing and unnecessary commentary telling us what to think.
My longing for those mountains that I love so much in the country where I lived for 5 years, and which became my second home has grown even stronger. Thank you!

I discovered your channel about a month ago and I'm totally blown away! The peace and healing I get from being a vicarious traveler on your journeys is a precious thing. I've done solo wild camps in the past and I know from experience that you only get the true connection with nature when your there but I wanted to congratulate you on your achievements and thank you for taking us along for the ride. ❤

Just 1 minute into the clip and I'm already speechless. The drone shots are just incredible.
Edit: Just finished watching it. This is phenomenal. You literally mastered both your photography and hiking skills. This is pure art!

It’s genuinely like you crossed that bridge into another reality, leaving behind the world we know and crossing into one that has no concern for us or our petty trifles. A world where time passes and stands still at the same time.

Can't wait! I've been watching these every morning before work while I get ready, and they've been bringing such a moment of peace before the crazy day. That is invaluable to me :)

Sun coffee - the coffee you enjoy after a freezing night in a tiny tent pitched on an exposed rocky ridge high in the Himalaya, while basking in the morning sun, sleepily enjoying the view of the 8000 metre peaks surrounding you. Another tremendous video Harman again thank you!
