I was always told that if you think "Thats a big crow", you saw a big crow; now if you see it and think "holy shit", you saw a raven.

Not even sure when was the last time I saw a crow, in our city there seem to be only rooks and jackdaws. But ravens are only in the forest - super easy to recognize though because they're huge, I didn't know people had trouble telling them apart. Although I suppose it might not be a problem of telling them apart but of never before learning which is which.

Everyone knows Crows aren’t saying Crow. They’re paying tribute to Kar for the sacrifice she made to close the portal and protect the world from the light eaters.

Crows and ravens belong to the same subspecies called corvidae

This subspecies has almost 50 members the larger ones are generally called ravens and the smaller ones are called crows but there are many many different raven and crow types and the larger crows and smaller ravens are about the same size.

What they all have in common is a really high level of intelligence

En español a ambos se les dice cuervos jajajaja. Siempre tuve esa duda de porque son palabras diferentes en inglés Crow y Raven para el mismo ave pero aprendí porque con este short. Muchas gracias

Crows and Ravens can both replicate human speech sounds. Ravens just have deeper croaking voices because they’re generally larger in size, and crows have breathier higher pitched voices. Crows actually do a better job of actually replicating the individual pitch and timbre of human voices than ravens, imo..

I understand ravens have one extra big wing feather. So the difference between crows & ravens is a matter of a pinion.

It has been pointed out that in most languages on earth the crow's name is the sound it makes.

Ravens are much larger in size, most notably, the beak being 2 to 3 times more massive

Crows can be hunted on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. I haven't seen ravens mentioned on the game and wildlife hunting regs.

All in the genus Corvus are Ravens, but not all in the genus Corvus are Crows. Common raven scientific name Corvus corax (Raven raven), Corvus (Raven in Latin), Corax (Raven in Ancient Greek). American crow scientific name Corvus brachyrhynchos (Short billed raven), Corvus (Latin for Raven), Brachyrhynchos (Ancient Greek for short billed). The only two that are scientifically Crows but also Ravens, is the Hooded crow scientific name Corvus cornix (Crow raven), Corvus (Raven in Latin), Cornix (Crow in Lain), with the species name Cornix being Latin for Crow, this would make the Hooded crow, the only true Crow. And the Carrion crow scientific name Corvus corone (Crow raven), Corvus (Latin for Raven), Corone (Ancient Greek for Crow). Rook scientific name Corvus frugilegus (Fruit-eating raven), Corvus (Raven in Latin), Frugilegus (Fruit-eater in Ancient Greek). So everything in the genus Corvus (Raven in Latin) is a true Raven.

Best way to tell is easily the size difference. Crows don't get bigger than your average pigeon, ravens, on the otherhand, have a wingspan that rivals birds of prey.
