Grand Rounds: Obesity Stigma -- How to Dismantle it in the Room

MaryAnn Dakkak, Associate Program Director at Boston University Medical Center Department of Family Medicine, provides full-spectrum family medicine, including surgical obstetrics, inpatient medicine and outpatient primary care. Trained at UCSF School of Medicine followed by Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency, she also holds a Masters in Public Health from Harvard University. Prior to clinical medicine she practiced public health, having worked in over 16 countries. She continues to work in public health with organizations such as Partners in Health and Move Up Global. Her academic interests are in disparities in health, obesity stigma, social drivers of health and LGBTQ+ medicine.
