Gerber Principle: 6 month review

I review my Gerber Principle after owning if for 6 months or so. So far it has been a good knife but I do worry about the longevity of the rubber overmold handle. I've gotten a few Knicks in the blade but they were relatively easy to sharpen out.

Pro's: Light weight, innovative sheath, price point, USA made.
Con's: Noisy sheath, rubber overmold, small for a bush crafter, minimal belly for carving.

FInal thoughts: Great knife for pack or EDC use, but would use something with G-10 or Micarta handle scales and a more traditional blade for fire building and woodwork.

I’ve owned the principle for over 2 years. I do like the knife and the value. The rubber overmold started to come loose around the plastic of the front grommet. I showed Gerber and they replaced it. Great service.

The sheath setup looks interesting. I bet it's a fair bit more expensive here in Finland though.
