Sir, thank you for your reviews. I find that good honest opinions and reviews are refreshing. I own the Gerber LMF, Strongarm, and the Principle. I have owned these blades for several years. I find that the Strongarm gets the bulk of the use. I have not had any problems with any of my Gerber products. I agree with you that the steel is soft and it does need to be sharpened more often. The sheaths on all three blades are fair, not great. Without getting into a lengthy comment. We use these knives for camping blade uses. I have found that all three Gerber blades have been sharp and durable right out of the box. I find with these types of blades we are not afraid to use them hard. It is nice that these blades are made in the USA. Thank you and God Bless.

Lol! "It's a trick question"!!! 😆

I agree. There's nothing Gerber currently makes that even remotely interests me.

1. Why did you say near the end of the video 6:10 that the Gerber Principle is made with Chinese 420HC? 2. It seems like the tang sits proud of the handle all the way around, so I think it was designed to be that way.

I have to disagree, I carried a Gerber mk2 while serving in the Marine Corps 79 to 84, it served me well in harm's way and basic chores in the field, no Bushcrafter should baton a knife, while all around you their is natural wood and debris for burning, who cuts a 3 inch diameter log at 14 inches and then batons it.Each tool is that.a tool it has a purpose, I own all of the knifes you mentioned, My Lmf got me out of a vehicle, but was destroyed in the fire except blade. But IAM alive it served it's purpose, I use the principal as a neck knife, remove floating parts of sheath, loop Paracord through top slot, size, and tie.Inside sheath there is retention ramp, use small flat file, file to desired retention.Any kniveman always sharpens his own knives out of box.Just bought Gerber Bushcraft axe yeh it's 4lbs, get stronger. know your tools, improvise adapt and overcome.

Stumbled on this review. Surprised at this young mans assessment of USA made knives by Gerber. I have carried the Principal model for a few years. I find that it is very capable as a hunting and camp knife. A high-value, smaller knife made in the USA. I wouldn’t expect the Principal to do heavy duty Bushcraft tasks like chopping or batoning hard woods. At $60 it meets a lot of my needs in the woods.

I have had and used a lot of gerber knives. The gerber principal is my most carried gerber it’s the right size blade for smaller tasks and I like the full scandi grind

Totally disagree, the Strongarm is one of the best utility knives on the market. The Prodigy is good but the grip is way to slick, the Strongarm fixed that issue.
As for their other crap maybe so I don't own any of it BUT I did have the LMf2 and using it for woodcraft is silly. It was built for downed chopper pilots made to cut through wires and fuselage without getting killed by electricity.

Its a specific purpose knife....
That scandi knife was wicked sharp for other reviewers BUT Gerber is known for poor quality control.

Learn how to sharpen is how it goes with blades ....
My $220 Benchmade was garbage out of box the thing was horrible 35° edge and the handle needed fixed it was way uneven. I fixed it reprofiled the edge and love it wouldn't tell people not to by Benchmade knives,
But thats just me and my opinion .
I think Gerbers Strongarm is worth buying . It's a better design than the Prodigy imho esp the sheath, the Prodigy sheath is trash and duals your edge.
Does their quality control need work ?...heck yeah for sure.
