Definitely do not need a screen protector or a case for an apple watch. Unless you are actively bashing your wrist into walls for fun, leave the case off and enjoy the user experience of having a thin watch on your wrist. Also, it woould be years before small screen scratches become a visible issue on the watch screen. They will accumulate much faster on a screen protector. Battery life diminishing will become an issue before any hypothetical screen scratches.
