The laughter from Snow at the end was so creepy, manipulated Gale and holy shit he tricked us all. D:

That ending though, who asks a baby "Do you have nightmares?" xD

I don't know why people feel the ending was bad. It's in the book. Sure, it's not a happy ending, but after everything that happened, do you really expect everything to be just peachy?

I know exactly what your talking about with the epilogue, I thought it was wack when I read the book and it looks like they are including it in the movie...

The ending was perfect and went along pretty much exactly as the book did. There needed to be a point of having closure that both Katniss and Peeta needed and deserved. Yes, they still have nightmares but together their love gets them through all of the past.

I think the reason you “got” the love triangle more could be due to us actually getting a glimpse into what Gale actually believes. In the first two films, he’s portrayed as this lovesick puppy, like Peeta, and there’s no character to his character. Finally, in this one, we finally establish not just WHAT he wants, but HOW he thinks is best to go after it.

Holy shit, is that the trailer in the bottom left? Because that contains 99% of all the good scenes in this movie. I, thankfully, went into it without ever having seen the trailer.

Saw it last night, I never really got into the love triangle (even in the books) I am a guy and was more into it for the alternative future aspect of the franchise. I found the whole film quite slow and a lot more could have been done to make it more tense.

How does every thing think they handled the changes to the script due to the passing of Mr Hoffman?

Favourite part 2 is Breaking Dawn (coming from a guy who had to endure all of them...). I watched it at a late screening with some buddies and laughed my ass of at ALL of the "dramatic" (hilarious) parts. Surprisingly there were quite a few people still watching it even at that time, but they were there for the laughs as well. It was an awesomely entertaining experience.

I agree with u on the ending part, but I love how she says "There are far worse games to play" LOVED IT 😍😍

I completely agree on your point on them not needing to add that extra ending haha.

This is an absolutely perfect review, I felt exactly the same way on every point you made.

I saw a double feature of part 1 and 2 yesterday. It was my first time seeing part 1. I agree with you, and I too liked part 2. I like your points about the love triangle. I disagree with you on the ending. I didn't love how they did it, but it did show the impact of war / violence. Overall, the quality acting really helps carry the films when the pacing and story are off. Thanks for your review.

I thought the ending was great and the fact they had it in the movie made me happy.
I get adaptions- all media is different. Changes aren't just inevitable but necessary. In the Hunger Games the movie adaption was as true to the book as I ever seen- and by that I mean the spirit and core of it all.
I thought they'd do a variety of chances- keep finnick alive, prim alive, have things end on a happier note with gale and/or her mother, have her be at peace- but they didn't.
Don't get me wrong- I would've loved any of those things- but that's not what happened. They kept those things so the ending could only be what it was in the book.
And while it certainly isn't the happiest of endings- it's a good one. It's what it's supposed to be.

Return of the King was 3 and half hours long and it made 1.1 billion dollars, won 11 oscars (which is tied with Titanic and Ben-Hur for the most oscars ever won), and has 95 percent from the critics and 85 from the fans on Rotten Tomatoes. I think if it was 3 and half hours long it would have worked out fine.

Needed to hear decent things about this last movie to know whether or not to marathon the whole thing. I only saw the first movie so far.

Typically I hate it when they split the third movie of a series into two parts, but if I had to choose a favorite, Harry Potter DH 2 was pretty good. Although the Herminy Ron relationship was too forced. It just came out of nowhere.

I went today and it was really good imo. I loved this series. Sad it's over, but it was good. And I didn't really mind the ending. I'm glad they ended it like this. No need to run out lol
