Orzo Pasta with Chicken and Pesto

Ingredients

Pesto

40 g Parmesan cheese, cut in pieces (2 cm)
10 g pine nuts
1 garlic clove
20 g fresh basil leaves
40 g olive oil

Chicken Orzo Pasta

150 g carrots, cut in pieces
150 g leeks, cut in pieces
30 g olive oil
400 g chicken breasts, skinless, diced (3 cm)
1 heaped tsp chicken stock paste
or 1 chicken stock cube (for 0.5 l), crumbled
500 g water
1 tsp salt
100 g frozen green peas
250 g orzo

Preparation

Pesto

Place Parmesan in mixing bowl and grate 15 sec/speed 10.
Add pine nuts, garlic, basil and oil then chop 10 sec/speed 7. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula then chop again 10 sec/speed 7. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.

Chicken Orzo Pasta

Place carrots, leeks and oil in mixing bowl then chop 5 sec/speed 5. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula then, with simmering basket in place of measuring cup, sauté 5 min/120°C/speed 1.
Add chicken, chicken stock paste, water and salt then, with simmering basket in place of measuring cup, cook 10 min/100°C//speed 
Add peas and orzo then, with simmering basket in place of measuring cup, cook time indicated on packet/100°C//speed  or until al dente.
Add reserved pesto (see tip) and combine gently with spatula. Serve immediately.
