This Tool will auto-convert PNG/JPEG to WebP and remove duplicate sizes from your database when you upload. You can even scale images to a maximum width so you don't have images that are 4000px wide!! No need to touch anything for future images.

And with a few clicks, you can sort out your legacy images too. This works for Posts, Custom Field Images, Products, and sets the conversion quality to 82%.

IMPORTANT: When Converting/Scaling - the Tool will give you a line by line update in the log. However the Deleting of Duplicate Sizes does not (currently) update the log line by line; it does inform you at the end, so just let it run. Trust me.

NOTE:
a) Take a backup first
b) Test on a staging site
c) Do not use this with another WebP Converter or Snippet enabled.
d) Check Site Identity SiteLogo and Favicon after running
e) WordPress relies on PHP libraries like GD and Imagick to handle image processing, including WebP conversion. If your hosting environment does not have these libraries enabled or properly configured, WebP conversion will not work with any tool. Check with your hosting provider to ensure that both GD and Imagick are enabled.
