In my experience, you get a better fit if you down size your duvet cover. Example: on my queen size bed I use a king down comforter inside of a full/queen duvet. Same goes for my kids twin beds.. full down comforter with a twin duvet cover. Gives me a fuller look.
As always great video! Thanks for all the helpful information 😊

One great type of sheet set for people who sweat and want the silky feel is bamboo sheets. Amazon sells a hotel version of bamboo sheets and OMG are they fantastic. Cooling and they are super soft. Kind of Knock off of west elm sheets but a fraction of price.

We've started to hit summer temperatures in the south so I'm back down to a light quilt and a throw blanket. Luxury is for the winter down here lol

I would love a video about fabric with bedding like you said with the linen.

If you like the look of the duvet tucked in at the bottom, I've seen an option in French bedding for a duvet cover with a chimney ("cheminée") extension, also sometimes called a bottle ("bouteille") extension.

Rather than a simple square or rectangle, at the foot of the cover, the fabric narrows to the width of the mattress, and extends another 15" or so (40 centimeters) past where the duvet fits. That extension is called the chimney and you tuck that under the mattress.

In other words, you align the duvet with the bottom of your mattress, and tuck in the chimney extension. It allows you to have a very neat looking fold at the foot of the bed without squashing your comforter.

I always use a top sheet, but don't tuck in the sides of sheet or comforter, and it's a lot easier and better-looking with the chimney.

Another advantage is that it stops the duvet from slipping off the bed at night. And somehow it keeps the duvet properly seated inside the cover. Just brilliant.

I found out about it by surprise when I ordered bedding online from a store called Linsvoges in France. My elderly mother had to move in with me and I wanted her to know she was welcome, so I splurged on this -- this particular line even had matching fabric by the meter for window treatments or upholstery. It was expensive--though not super-luxuryexpensive--but so beautiful. Mom loved it (😅).

Unfortunately, I haven't ever seen this in the United States. Interesting to know if it's something found in countries other than France. If you're up for making your own cover, it's easy enough to plan it in.

Kiva, I'm back home with my parents for 2 months, and you've just helped me make my bed feel more luxe. Thank you! I see a beautiful cashmere throw in the Italic shop. 😍 And I threw some cute pajamas in my cart too.

That’s a lot of bedding! I know you say it isn’t warm, but I sweat just looking at all that. It certainly looks fluffy though!

A hint that I heard years ago and still really love is to sprinkle some scented powder between the top and bottom sheets. It retains the scent for days, and feels really silky to the skin.
