Hacker: We locked your systems, we want payment in bitcoin.
Victim: We don't have any bitcoin.
Hacker: Then you better get some.
Victim: We can't, you locked our systems!

If you see a ransomware message on your computer saying that it is under attack, your computer may not still be hacked.
Maybe the message is just a bait that popped up when you opened a phishing email or clicked on an advert. But the message has buttons/options such as "make payment" or "decrypt" and clicking on these is what actually causes the ransomware to download or become activated and take hold of your computer.

Remember that guy who got caught by the FBI who tried to get one of the Tesla employees to upload a software in Giga Nevada to ransomware Tesla, But the stupid U.S judge let him off in six months in jail only, it's pathetic🙈. Ransomware should be classified as a terrorist in the U.S and should be prosecuted as such period!!

I got hit with one YESTERDAY--a computer ransom-hijack!!

I had about 1, 233, 424 files on my C drive, all of them threatened to be encrypted forever. If that would have happened, I could not access, move, delete, or open all of them. Even worse--those files would disappear for good--my 0 sector would go away--and my computer would be dead!

I knew what to do - shut down the computer and reboot to stop the ransomware program from completing its payload and causing me permanent damage to the computer. I never gave in to the ransomware hacker and this attitude saved my computer!

Ransomware is something people far more computer savvy than myself use to make some cash. Shoulda went to school back in my 20's. Oh no, I liked the freedom of working outside in beautiful weather. Now, my body is wrecked making a company 150k (low avg) per day, not even a thank you, let alone compensation. Oh joy...

Stay in school kids...

I would be OK if they attacked Fox, AON, and Newsmax, even the Trump organisation. But they must do it before Smartmatics gets all their money.

(the only way that this wouldn't work, is if a country got that hacker's or buyer's backs)

I think Microsoft should be considered culpable for providing Hackers the platform for these attacks.

That's why if you have such secret data then don't have your computers online. Have backups and the stuff online shouldn't be anything that you care about them posting to the public.

It would help if companies actually acted on vulnerabilities instead of doing nothing about it for years like Kaseya.

Maybe if the intelligence and military communities weren’t ultimately corrupt, people with competitive computer skills would actually want to do good and work for public entities

The chart at 1:48 does not support what is being said in the video. Over 50% of the data is simply unexplained????

No matter what we do hackers are going to still get paid🤔

If data leak is a concern, there's no guarantee the crooks wont use it as repeat ransom tool. For data releasing, don't anyone keep an off-line backup anymore?

So we can fly a little chopper on Mars but we can't get a grip on this hacking thing. Ok
