Neil deGrasse Tyson: 'Voyager 1 Has Detected 775 Unknown Objects Passing By In Space'

Although Voyager 1 has been exploring the cosmos for over forty five years now, it hasn't seen it all. It keeps uncovering something new every day. And its recent discovery, validated by Neil deGrasse Tyson, remains a mystery to the scientific world. The spacecraft just detected the existence of 775 celestial objects while exploring interstellar space. Are these mysterious celestial objects real? Or are they the result of inaccurate data transmission from Voyager 1 to NASA? Could they be the handiwork of extraterrestrials?

When these two remarkable probes were launched, I was 24. Year after year NASA has been receiving incredible bits of info and now we will continue to receive info from the unknown. Interstellar space. It is now 46 years later, I am 70 and still kicking. The probes are 46 and they are still kicking, too ! Thank you for this very informative video !

It's amazing how much respect and real affection these little crafts of outdated technology inspire. I find myself cheering them on with each new extension of "life" while at the same time feeling a little sad for them in their lonely journeys. Congratulations to the scientists and technicians who have been able to keep them going far beyond their initial expected life-spans.

Where are the 775 objects? Intelligent aliens, I believe, would not want to interact with a barbarian species who for some reason always kill their own.

Summer of 77?....WOWWWW!! I was only 13 then, and here I am 59 watching and listening to something I was so interested in when I was 13. This brings back so much fond memories of my youth...I remember the 70's decade like the back of my hand...So miss it.

Amazing that they’ve been zooming along for that many years, and have missed being hit by a chunk of something large enough to destroy them.

These Voyager missions may be the most advanced things (in minimum development time) we may ever develop in my life. I was born a few months after these were launched, I would be surprised if I ever witness anything more staggering than this mission.

😮😮Sometimes new tech is not better than old tech. My brother has a 60 yr old truck that is more dependable and cheaper to repair than any new truck I can buy. Go Voyager1 Go.

They aren't blind. They'd have sent a warning signal to stay away from their space limits, in case it was true.

It seems like as we travel thru space that we are only looking in the direction we are coming from - like instead of looking forward we are constantly looking in the rear view mirror. Since the voyager twins have been so successful, and the fact we should have better devices by now, why in the world havnt we made several of these probes and sending them in different directions ???

Fantastic work putting this video together but at 20:36 you lost me with the UFO explanation now I will never know how it ends.

I don't care about nothing in this video except the 775 objects detected. I'm not a scientist. I only care that voyager is still functioning and the 775 objects. No info about 775 objects, don't waist My time.
