Got our solar panels and 2 Powerwalls in May 2023 and we are very pleased as to how they perform. We also love the charge on solar function for our Model Y. It will take several years to break even with our electric and gasoline bills but we like the independence we have from rate hikes.

We have been lucky enough to have model 3 since 2019 and solar + powerwall since 2022. This is exactly what it's like. Dropped out $250 /month SDGE bill to $23 /month + $150 loan. It is a no-brainer. It doesn't cover 100% of our energy usage, but nearly 85% and now we have two EV, zero gas cars as of September last year.

Installed a 12kw solar panel system on our primary home in AZ back in 2016 (from Solar City which became Tesla). It paid for itself in Q4 of 2022 (over a year ago) still have 23 years of a full warranty (until 2046) on the solar panel system and inverters. Generates 85-90kw/day in summer (half that in winter). Figure that during those next 23 years it should save us about $70k in electricity (at current rates). Powers a 4k sq ft home where it can get to 115 degrees out in summer but keep it at 72 degrees indoors year-round. Also powers a 2023 Tesla Model Y LR (74kw battery for 330 miles of range, 7-seater). Planning to add another 12kw system on guest wing later this year with battery storage (possibly for a VPP) mainly for an eventual cybertruck and for some backyard development. In AZ (the real sunshine state), solar is the way to go.

Yep! We are really enjoying our solar system with the power wall - it is currently 8:41pm and the power wall is still powering our home from the solar charge it got today - every day this automagically discharging is saving us $ - not to mention the charge on solar for our splendid Model Y - life is good being a Tesla customer & I can’t help but like that all of these products are “Made by Humans - on Earth” - love it
