The Parasuram Express will run partially from Sunday to Shornur and back. The decision was taken due to the severe traffic congestion in Malabar. The Mangalore-Nagercoil Parasuram Express was canceled from Saturday. The control was for the construction of a double track in Kottayam.

20 trains including Venad Express, Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Mail, Kanyakumari-Bengaluru Island and Thiruvananthapuram-Kannur Janshatabdi will be canceled till 28. Traffic will be restricted to Kottayam for 10 hours a day from 24 to 28. Control is from 7.45am to 5.45pm. The reason for the cancellation of more trains in Kottayam is the non-availability of facilities to stop more trains at Ernakulam and the fact that there is only one line track through Alappuzha.

The special MEMU service will be operated between Kollam and Changanassery from May 24 to 28 during the period when the Venad Express is not operating. All the stops available for Venad Express will be applicable to the MEMU train.

The Railways has granted a stop for Palakkad-Tirunelveli Palaruvi Express at Ettumanoor station from May 24 to 27. On May 28, Palaruvi Express will not operate services.
