The wireless system is really only used at high level events, and even then, we didn't see it at this years worlds, since it's made by StM -- a Ukranian company, and the war got in the way of them sending techs to the event.

The vast VAST majority of events worldwide are held with the competitors physically connected to the scoring system.

A little fact Aladár Gerevich (16 March 1910 – 14 May 1991) was a Hungarian fencer, regarded as "the greatest Olympic swordsman ever". He won seven gold medals in sabre at six different Olympic Games.
As a person he was a nice guy too.

At 7:16 you start talking about foil fencing but showed a picture of saber fencing. But, the description of the target area is for saber fencing. Tiny inconsistency, doesn't take away from the main point of the slide. Good video though

Swords are separate from fencing.

Spain 🇪🇸 originated fencing. The Roman's/Italians invaded Spain. The romam catholic church banned fencing. The Celtics invaded Spain then the moores invaded including north Africa, Turks and Arabs. All of these backgrounds all historically claimed fencing yet all invaded Spain and some tried to ban it from its originators.

It was interesting and well-produced. You mispronounced Kárpáti's name, however. Hungarian names, like all Hungarian words, have their accent on the first syllable, not the second, as you have done with Kárpáti's name.
