To hone your blade, simply place the honing stone along the flat side of the blade and run it back and forth to remove any burrs or accumulated residue that forms. You should hone your blade after your fifth cut, then hone your blade every tenth cut for the first 100 cuts until the blade is broken in. From there, you’ll only need to hone once per job.
