Traveling with the Peak Design Travel Backpack 45L

Tons of fantastic features on paper, and yet, I don't want to travel with it any longer.

When I first purchased the Peak Design I was enamoured by how much space it has and how durable it remains to this day. It's modern synthetic materials are bordering on bullet proof and they are water resistant to boot. So why can't I love it any more?

It boils down to a lot of small nit picky things that amount to a larger lack of satisfaction.

03:30 - Annoying Clam Shell
05:16 - Laptop Pocket
06:48 - Uncomfortable Straps
09:33 - Sternum Strap Anxiety
11:48 - Liter or Lack thereof

So maybe it's not so much that there is a better bag, but there is a better bag for me. Like anything in life, opinions and tastes change... and this Peak Design is no longer my "go to" bag.

I love negative/low points or cons as it gives the deal breakers in a nutshell. Def honest by a guy who’s actually used it extensively. Dont like laptop in top its just not ergonomic for instance. Thanks!

The straps don't look comfortable. The bag is to heavy.
The bag is to expensive.
If they update the bag make the straps more comfortable shave off half the weight and shave 35% off the price it might be worth buying. They can get rid of one of the side access panels. And sell a lefty and righty version.

When using the waist strap does that mitigate the poor shoulder straps — too thin and cutting into your shoulders?

Bigs thumbs up for me for me ....I dont need such a big bag and sometimes yes too much features can be overkill...

For my next 1 or 2 week travels trip, i will try to travel with my new 25L ( venture safe X24...) but i am not sure it is a real 24L seems much smaller ...I also got a foldable backpack from Osprey for everyday commute.
Also i am not a photographer so ...

PS : will look into the Osprey 30l you mentionned since it seems to be able to pack so much.
