Nice review Marco. Played Yacquinto's Ironclads. Good game, but lots of bookeeping, notation and pateice required - enthusiasts only!
My impressions of Iron and Oak is that it's using concepts found in Ironclads, but refining them for playabilty and game flow. I'd like to try this one out.
