Hey Andrew, after watching this I decided to go and hunt this game down and found a copy! I’ve had great fun with it so far in a few different scenarios and yesterday even had the pleasure of witnessing my first magazine hit! Poor USS Cairo was winning until she very dramatically was not.

Good choice... bought this game 8ish years ago and it hasn't hit the table as yet. Looked at the rules but were a little intimidated but looking forward to your play through.

I just played it for the first time today. WoW… HUGE fun. I am a fan of one of the other game-series by its designer, James Day, which is Panzer and both are excellent games.

In this first scenario the Union Iroquois crippled the Confederate Sumter already early on and so it seemed impossible that the Sumter was going to escape to the West and break the blokkade, … until the Sumter managed a critical hit on the Iroquois and its waterline… EXPLODING it with a total 10 hit damage, even sinking the ship.

Rolling a perfect 6+6 on the die roll and managing a totally unexpected escape !

I am hooked already 😜

Btw the game is very easy to play solo too. Just play with the Action cards open to both sides.
