Hello, I know this post may sadly be too late but I found a solution for the sped up voice recordings.
Basically, do NOT use Windows sound settings to set the bit-depth and sample rate of the M-Track 2x2M.
Instead, go to control panel, and find "M-Audio M-Track 2X2M" and open that and set your sample rate to 192khz there. After that, just make sure your recording software and project settings are also set to 192khz (I use audacity) it works flawlessly after that.

You are using dynamic microphones which are usually power hungry and that M-Track is not powerful enough. You should try using condenser microphones which require less power or use cloudlifter and that will enable you to use gain control more comfortably.

Like you my device stops working about once a day and either plays white noise instead of the real sound or freezes the application that tries to use it. Unplugging the usb power and plugging it back in seems to solve the problem for me too. But it is really annoying having to do that every day on a fixed setup.

The gain knobs work fine as its usb keep the USB /dirct in know set to USB. Then you'll get your full sound of your using a mic use the xlr input 1 as the 1/4 Jacks are primarily for instruments like guitar

My problem is that the drivers keep disappearing any time I plug anything else into the computer. I have the install software on the desktop now, as I need to reinstall it so often. M-Audio has not updated the software since 2016. So, your thought at the 10:35 mark that the software might be updated -- nope. Other expenses keep pushing down the ability to replace this interface, but I really need to make it happen.

I have a question and really need help. So I have been setting up my at home studio and have an M-audio air 192 6 usb linked to my MacBook Pro. The issue I'm having is that I am only getting sound out of left speaker. I have contacted apple over the phone for hours and have no solution, even went and returned the old one interface to get a new one in hopes that it would fix the problem and I am still having no sound coming out of my right speaker. cords all work so its not a cord problem, I honestly feel I have exhausted all measures I can think of. if you know anything please help me out.
