This part is about getting started with drawing stuff on the screen, and other things which are to be initialised first before one can begin drawing stuff. These are the Viewport and the Projection Matrix.

Great Tutorial! On running the same script with FreeGlut the terminal gives the following error "freeglut (foo): fgInitGL2: fghGenBuffers is NULL" .It's been run on a machine which supports Opengl 3.1 and is not a virtual machine ( VMware).Any suggestions would be useful, thanks.

sir, i have one question.
You say we need to switch to GL_Projection whenever we want change projection.
But in reshape function, after change matrix to GL_Projection, you call glLoadIdentity.
So in that case we change our projection in model view matrix

If you did everything in the tutorial
And your glut window is all white

This might happen if you use glut32 instead of, freeglut

If this happens try using decimal numbers below 1, example:- 0.25, 0.45, 0.50

Nice work actually i want to ask two questions
1) can this be implemented in matlab if yes which sources are required
2) i want to model a simulation showing machining processes using tool the workpiece will be made from removable cubes while tools with non removable cubes
so any inputs regarding this will be helpul

wtf is this, 2017year video, and you still use OpenGL 3.3- semantics, so outdated.
