Don't listen to the negative comments. I have almost every headset in the market and I can say when you try the 8KX you will never want to use another headset. It gives you the real feeling of VR. After Pimax other headsets feel like using a diving google :))

Having just bought a 5K Super the build and performance has been improved even after owning an artisan. I feel happy with my new headset. I'm back with Pimax again feels a good. I can't go back to small fov. Pimax software helps you now automatic no more phone calls. It's worth another try people reading this 2021

Not sure why this is being disliked. If all this is true and coming in 2021 that is fantastic. This could very well be the start of true, 2nd generation VR headsets. We thought that would start with the Index but that turned out to be more like gen 1.5

Pimax has seemed to listen to customer and are improving all aspects and this is good news. I recommend the Vision line

Why dont you produce a lens without distortion or just copy the damn starvr1 lens? Its been a while and we are still waiting for a headset from pimax with a good fov and resolution and +90 hz. light, without distortion and easy to use.

I ordered a 5k Plus last march, still havent got nothing.
Pimax customers services is complet crap, they barely speak english.
I gave them loss notification from both carrier, they just don t care and I can t do shit about it.
I just have lost 1300$.
I strongly advice avoiding their products.

If Cyberpunk 2077 had a PS3 version, it will be the equivalent of Pimax headsets.
From the many news, review and videos I watched over the years, I can safely say AVOID PIMAX!
!!

The default equipment that comes with their headsets are intentionally bad to make you buy upgrades (ex : cheap, uncomfortable strap that doesn't balance the weight).
When you buy those upgrades you are still disappointed by the poor quality and high cost of them :
- Hello the 100€ strap with "High fidelity 3d audio" that sound worse than an 1€ aliexpress earphone.
- Hello to the 200€ eye tracking that is so imprecise to the point of being unusable.
- Lets not talk about the 100€ cable...

And they have a bad reputation too, for ex the eye tracking module was meant to be sent "for free" among other accessories to the backers of the kickstarter campaign (people who payed), but the only thing they received is a promo code for those.
They don't respect the delays, and their headsets seems to break easily, good luck with their after sell service in China.

Despite selling headsets with 2*4k displays, their image quality (screen door effect...) is worse than many other headsets with half the resolution.
Their high FOV they advertise so much comes with distortion that induce nausea.
And with a high FOV and high resolutions comes low performance, in VR having a low framerate induce nausea much more than on a flat screen.
The only point that could of saved those headset is the eye tracking module (foveated rendering, distortion profile) but as you know it just doesn't works.

To sum it all,
Pimax is a small company that thought they could sell worse headset than those on the market but at a higher price, supporting their false advertisement with fancy videos and youtubers they payed (shoutout to my boy Sweviver, call me when you retrieve your balls).
