Stop audio playing when scrubbing the time line in Adobe Premiere Pro 2023

for some people the sound generated when moving or scrubbing along the timeline in Adobe Premiere Pro can be rather distracting or just unpleasant depending on the content.

Do you know there is an option buried in the settings menu that allows you to disable or turn off the audio tracks when moving along the timeline and it resumes playback when playing normally!

An excellent tip, Mike.

Also related, I believe you can mute the audio in the source monitor while you scrub through your footage in premiere pro if needed.

In the clip source box, you can select "audio clip mixer" tab and click the little "M" switch above the volume indicator bars. This should mute the sound from that specific clip as you scrub along its timeline.

In older slower systems that lagged, it was painful to hear the audio slowed down while the clip was trying to play or when scrubbing.

Thanks again for the quick toggle-box approach to eliminate audio while scrubbing as a global setting.
