People need more time for mental sanity and more time with their families. 2 days off is not ample time to rest your mind. These companies have our whole day! They have taken our whole week! They have our lives! If you need a day off, you have to ask and beg for a day of your life to take care is something!! It’s ridiculous. We cannot live the full life we are meant to live without being obligated to 40 work hours per week/ 10 hours of your day. Your whole day is basically gone after work. It’s about time someone said something.

Wrong. People work hard and burn out after 5-6 hrs of work wasting effort after about 3 pm so it should be 6 hrs daily 5 days a week. Whether physical labour or sitting at a desk, the mind and body crash after 5-6 hrs. While we are highly productive during those hours, that productivity drops off dramatically after 6 hrs.

I worked 4 days a week for years. But they were 12-16 hour days.

4 day work week and yoir company will slam you with alot of work in less amount of hours. Nobody will change their deadlines just because everybody will work lesser days. I see that in my field of healthcare.

My employer has had this shift for the night shift for 22 years now. It works. People feel actually compelled to do a little more knowing the reward at the end of the work week. Not a “la la land” idea like some other comment goes off of. It’s all mental. Not to mention half of the world is asleep when the other isn’t.. why not save the time, increase productivity with a happier workforce...instead of forcing work?

I think we should do it for this way to pleased everyone and it can keep the business open for all-time.
Let's the employee decided
3 days work : 13 or 14 hours per a day
4 days : 10 hours
5 days : 8 hours
6 days : 7 hours
7 days : 6 hours

It win-win solution. The employer doesn't have to be their to run the business especially on the 7th day. I am not have 0 to 2 days workweeks as option. 0 days is laziness . 1 and 2 days are not sufficient enough and are impractical after all. You gets a pay decrease if you work for 13 hours in 3 days but only by a dollar. 4 day and 5 day will remained the same. To keep it simple that school should 4 days or 5 days a week for simplicity. All business should have a mental health counseling after all.

Remote work and a four day work week should’ve been decades ago. So stupid that they are just realizing this now lol

Yeah humans arent meant to work so often. I've already seen friends working 4 days the past few years, so it's not new, but I'd like to see it more broadly the norm.

I rather work more weeks to get payed more but I want to them to raise my check from 16 to 17 an hour or 18 if so. I worked 7 days a week. I love working. But i want to chose when I want to take a break. I don't like this law. It's better to make this law. We can have the same weeks we have and we can decide and ask our mangers that we want to spend time with family. Because working for 4 days a week will make me angry less payed and then we go home when others really wanna work to get payed more.

Great, one more whole day to drink and get high. This will do wonders for UK GDP. I'm sure the Royals need an extra day off too.

Yeah, I had a 4 day a week job once. They had me there 15 hours each day! Literally watched the guy I was riding with fall asleep at the wheel.

There's no way the slave drivers here in America will ever go for a 4 day work week. As it is, most jobs want me to not only work 5 days a week (12 hours a day) but they also want me available to come in on my days off and on holidays!

So, ...anyone in Iceland need a helicopter pilot and/or Class A truck driver?

, ...'cause I'm more than ready for a change!

So basically all this is doing is rewarding those who work less on a metric scale in 5 days than those that actually got more work done over the same time span. In due time this 4 day work week will only produce 3 days worth of work because let's face it, people in the work industry are pretty lazy and barely work (many don't even have a job or want to get one).... history always repeats itself. How would this model even work for certain industries??? Simply put, it wouldn't. Smdh This will just eventually require more workers to get the"job done" which is a good thing for unemployment rates to decrease, but this will just drain company pocket books and force them to pay lower salaries over time... this is totally backwards in practicality, but great in la la land theory.
