The other thing about credit cards is if there's fraud, it's easier to get things fixed...and you still have your money. A bank will never resolve anything in a fast manner for you.

This is what I have been doing for years... I started with a secured credit cardwith a $300 deposit, then used it solely for gas purchases for my car, and then after 6 months it was increased to $500, and I used it for groceries, a few years later the credit limit was increased again to $1k today it's $10k and I use it for everything and pay it down monthly...

I'm all for using credit cards wisely, but not for using them for small purchases in small shops especially if I can afford to lose out on a few card points. The credit card companies charge the shop per transaction. Treat those mom and pop shops well.

Pretty much saying, spend on your credit card as if it’s coming out of your pay check, and before end of month, transfer that money to it. If you don’t have that money already it’s a different story

This is 100% correct, it's baffling why people refuse to use credit cards. They are free to use if you pay them off full each month, and you do as he says get loads of points for free hotels and flights etc. I racked up so many points on my card that I then exchange for free hotel rooms, is pretty awesome

Grateful for my upbringing, I learned saving and investing from Indian friends in Cambridge. Now debt-free with a high credit score, I've tried to teach my family, but they struggle with debt and don't listen, prioritizing material possessions instead like iPhones, AirPods, and a Dodge Charger, showing little interest in financial advice. It saddens me to foresee their challenging future, despite my repeated attempts to guide them.
