Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band - 2014 World Champions
Показать описание
Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band, under Pipe Major Richard Parkes MBE, retained its Grade One Championship at the 2014 World Pipe Band Championships, held in Glasgow on 15 and 16 August 2014.
Like last year the championships were held over two days with the Grade One qualification heats being held on the Friday and the finals on the Saturday. So four performances and sixteen judges stood between the bands and the final prize list.
The final was one of the best musically that I have been to. All bands played to exceptional standards. Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band from Lisburn, County Antrim, under Pipe Major Richard Parkes MBE and Drum Sergeant Keith Orr retained the Grade One title for the fourth year running. This video documents the band's medley on the Saturday final.
Tunes played are:
[00:00] Rowd's Hornpipe (composed by Garth Neel)
[00:57] The High Drive Jig (composed by Gordon Duncan)
[01:29] Jig: The Piper's Bonnet (traditional)
[02:31] Air: Sine Bhan (traditional)
[03:20] Strathspey: Rodney Hull QC (composed by Bill Livingstone)
[03:51] Strathspey: Lachine Rapids (traditional)
[04:23] Willie MacKenzie's Reel (traditional)
[04:44] Reel: Smelling Fresh (composed by James Duncan MacKenzie)
[05:04] Hornpipe: Pipe Major George Allan (composed by PM Donald MacLeod)
