Field Marshal Montgomery took the Grade One World Championship with this brilliant performance which is often nothing short of dazzling e.g. the playing of the extended Fiddlers Rally after the slow tune.

I needed to cover some bad camera work in the slow air and I've done this by going into slow motion. The steadycam operators seem to glide across the screen in time to the music and this contrasts with the more frantic return during the Fiddlers Rally.

Towards the end of the slow tune, on the right of the screen, you can see Linda Fabiani (seated, white top) with George Ussher, President of the RSPBA. At the time Linda Fabiani was Scottish Culture Minister and was the Chieftain for the day at the championships.

14 years on, still love this set. Strong, solid, melodic and pleasant. The drones are so loud and solid too. It’s really a great band to say the least.
