Using Low Z Index Module Borders as Backgrounds with Divi

When you’re trying to create a unique design for your website, thinking outside the box can help you get there. In past tutorials, we’ve often used a design element for its built-in options. Not only does it help you maintain a real-time view of the design your creating, but it also helps you make it look exactly the way you want to across different screen sizes.

In today’s Divi tutorial, we’re going to show you how to use a module’s low z index borders to create a stunning design and that can be used for multiple purposes. You’ll be able to download the JSON file for free as well!

I can just repeat what the other users are saying. These Videos, of you designing pages, do not teach us how to use the features of divi at all. Often there are even jumps/cuts inside them where you go on from a different point and i don't know how you got there. But i greatly appreciate the amount of content you are putting out for the divi community! Stay as positive as you are, i love that. Cheers

Hey Mack, I have to be honest, the whole VW & EM thing truly confuses the snot out of me. Do you have a comprehensive video tut on this issues for noobs to figure out where and when it's best to divert from px's? Greatly appreciate all you do for the Divi community!

Hello Mak! The problem with all of Your videos: they are not tutorials. We need tutorial, so we can implement the knowledge, not just cloning what You did! "Type here Lorem, there 24vw, and then click that chain.. aaaand we are done. Enjoy" This kind of info is just useless unless You tell us WHY is that step (px instead of vh, vw, em, so on...), what is the FINAL GOAL, and the goal of each step.. so why we are going to do this and that. Slow down please, and teach, not just "recreate"! Make the videos informative, and enjoyable!
Also I am totally shocked what happened between 7:43 and 7:44, so from the total mess You just made the expected version with no click in the video. Please let us know what has been cut out from the video.. so how did You got that expected version from that messy state!
Thank You!
Have a great time being a better Divi teacher!

Thanks for the tutorial and thank you for posting it. I hope you don’t mind me saying, but as a fairly new DIVI user I found it confusing. While you were clearly showing each off the steps you took, you did not describe the reason behind the steps, i.e. the theory of why you were making the changes and what the end result you wanted,
Is there somewhere else you’d point me to so I can gain that understanding? Thanks 🙏

I wish you'd explain why you're doing each step, otherwise all we can do is mimic what you do.

Great look! It would be great if that was a Divi import module to save the 980 steps it takes to create ha

I agree with Zsolt Gera (below). This is a very sloppy video. An entire critical chunk, I believe displaying the main thrust of the video - the z-index - is missing. Also, I'd also prefer Mak to go slower and actually explain the who, what, where, when, and why of what he's doing. I don't want to end up just parroting what he's doing because I don't understand the underlying concepts adequately.
