That's pretty awesome :) You should refine this ideal, by making a glass bubble in front, with a camera mounted inside. Give it voice control so you can say things like, "15 Degree down bubble", or "make my depth zero-five-zero!", "come to heading two-five-six", "make turns for 15 knots", "periscope depth"... that would be pretty cool.
