The reporter is only here because of ANZACS. We recognise past and future ANZAC who protect our shores.

How about adding the fact that he was an outstanding soldier?

Did you know him? Do you know his full history. Don't tarnish the reputation of people who can no longer defend themselves . I don't agree with what this man may have done or why he did it. Instead of highlighting one, why not focus on the fact that Australia, a country of roughly 4 million people gave 416, 000 of it's sons aged 18 to 41 years. Focus on the approximately 60, 000 of those sons that having paid the ultimate sacrifice, lie in foreign soil, some of whom will never have a known grave. At this time of year, the week before ANZAC Day, concentrate on the courage of the boys landing at Gallipoli. The boys freezing in the trenches of France and charging the German guns. The Lighthorse men charging at Beersheba, the relationship that was forged between Australian troops and the French people. Think about our nurses, some 3, 000 wonderful ladies, who cared for our sick, wounded and dying Diggers.

I don’t believe anyone would think, every single Australian soldier was some kind of paragon of virtue and it certainly does NOT call the ANZAC legend into question.

How is this uncomfortable? He has done nothing wrong, every soldier has done this for an eternity. Dont be so sensitive.

Just because one guy out of thousands was bad shouldn't taint the whole ANZAC legend unless you are wanting it to.

am deeply frustrated by the ongoing attacks on the legacy of our ANZACs and Australian history. The ANZAC spirit embodies values of courage, mateship, and sacrifice that have significantly shaped our national identity. While it’s essential to critically examine history, the current trend of undermining these contributions feels like a deliberate attempt to erode our cultural heritage. Such actions not only disrespect the memory of those who served but also divide us as a nation. We should honor and learn from our past.

Finders keepers. If you're dead you don't need your belongings anymore. Soldiers were paid stuff all for their lives overall, so I don't see anything wrong with it.

Which is a big deal compared to the Allies pilfering German lands at the end.

All soldiers search the captured. what is uncomfortable about that? Sorry wont be subscribing after you bringing this up over 100 years ago. How about the machine gunners that killed so many?
