That was VERY interesting. The variation in depth of shade in some of the samples is surprising. I only wish that I could see the spun yarn.

I would love to see more roving dyed. I would love to be a lab partner for such an episode.

I was very excited to see this one come out, and the effect on the roving definitely shows the tones and tints of the different greens. It's really interesting that the turquoise has such a strong breaking effect, I can't recall whether there was breaking in turquoise alone. I think I like #4, green and soft yellow, the best in terms of specifically the green that was obtained (beautiful forest green!), but I really love how the broken colors look. There's definite potential for using that in an intentional way later!

I am always excited to see more roving videos! These turned out beautiful. I have dyed in half gallon jars, it helps it break the dye and you get them great tonals. They spin up in a wonderful way.

My word -- that breaking with the bright yellow and turq! That is simply gorgeous! I have a project on my list using all greens for a friend -- unfortunately, she's allergic to wool, so....I will be going the acrylic route and keep searching for just the right set of greens to use. Wish I could dye it easily instead (all my dyes, that I have yet to use, are for protein fibers).

Yay, I was waiting for a video like this! Maybe I missed it somewhere in the narration, but did you ever hear from Paradise Fibers if this is their green as intended or a bad batch? It seems so odd that all the other colors should be close to their preview images while green isn't even in the ballpark.

So surprised that the color was absorbed unevenly. Very cool experiment

I wonder if you put a snug lid on the jars and flipped them over the roving would rise into the remaining dye without having to risk felting.

With the fiber done up like this, all I can think is, "Moldy Challah!" It is not helped by a few of the greens being bread mold color LOL
