Dyepot Weekly #348 - Valentine's Day Yarn - Pouring My Heart onto Yarn! (1 Colorway on 3 Yarn Bases)

FILMING EQUIPMENT

VIDEO CONTENTS:
[0:00] Introduction
[1:01] Dyeing the prototype on Stroll base pink
16 cups of water + 4 T white vinegar
75 mL of 1% stock of Pink Orchid Acid Dye
Add 300 g of yarn that was presoaked overnight
[3:30] The dye plan & main yarn bases
[5:27] Removing the prototype from the dyepot & Starting a layered kettle dyed round
Add half of the 75 mL of pink orchid to the same dyebath,
Dye 300 g of the W2D4 Glimmer
[9:47] Dyeing the tonal Superwash MCN
Use 1/2 the dye (75 mL total) dip the yarn in and move it around
Dye 300 g of yarn, move the zip ties before finishing the rest of the dye
[12:45] Dyeing the Prototype hearts
Arrange with the lightest yarn on the surface first.
8 cups of water + 2 T white vinegar to the pan
Layer hearts 1% stock of ponsettia
flip after 10 minutes
Add 6 cups water + 2 T white vinegar to give the yarn more space to set the color for 20-30 minutes

Remove some water to have on hand. Want just enough water to cover the yarn

[22:58] Washing all of the yarn
[24:46] Mega heart dyeing timelapse

I love love love my yarn! hubby is grumbling a little since he bought it, but honestly, he would have paid more for flowers and candy, which is his norm! I love this so much better and I ohhed when I opened the lurex, it is so pretty! Plus, it will not give me extra calories! I am thinking of adding it to some of my other Chem Knits yarn to make a shawl, if I can find the right mix of colors! It's too bad my gift card was messed up, still is, we are waiting to hear back from them about replacements, or I would have gotten another skein. Thank you for everything that you do, and foe becoming one of my best friends on you tube :) it felt like coming home, watching one of your videos again. I have another issue going on right now, and the best I can do is get my taping own, which my next channel video will be showing off this amazing yarn!

This is amazing! The Valentine is adorable, the iridescent lilac heart stitch marker is so pretty (also, the lobster claw fits on 5.5 mm knitting needles, which is great) and the yarn is so pretty. Also, it's my first time with MCN: it is amazingly soft, I love it. Now, I need to find a project for it! Will I pair it with another pink yarn for a shawl? I don't know!

Why turn down money? If you are selling out of this colorway, why not dye more batches? No one will complain. And that goes for other sold-out colorways.
