I understand this storyline well. No lipo for me, but I did contract sepsis from a huge kidney stone becoming stuck. I was taken down for an emergency nephrostomy, and then put into ICU. Thankfully, my ostomy was temporary and I only had it for several months, but the anxiety and shame that went with it was very real. A good story for a change, which highlights the dangers of surgery abroad, and the costs that go with it. I'm just grateful to the NHS for saving my life. Without public funded healthcare, where would many of us be?
