You could also run bootrec /scanOS this checks windows for any issues with booting, this runtime error comes from either a faulty partition or a cloned one on the same HDD/SSD windows can’t figure out which one to use

Thank you. sfc /scannow found corrupt files and repaired them. The restore operation completed successfully as well. I restarted the computer and tried the CATIA V5 Setup again. I am still receiving the message : setup: Problem with VC8 Runtime. Do you know what could be causing this?

Bro i tried so many things yet nothing worked, it all started when i launched simple planes and then my pc shut down maybe bcuz of overheating or smt bcuz the fans may have been dusty, and then i tried to launch it again but uh oh runtime error, same for some other games. I did this method too but nothing, guess ill have to reinstall windows.
