I made a shortcut button which I then added to control centre which actually turns off Bluetooth. Saves me having to go into actual settings. Give it a go if you haven’t yet.

This is a known fact, grayed out Bluetooth means completely not turned off. Its for apple devices (like apple watch, iPods, airtags etc) talk to Iphone.

Did you know that "Disabling" bluetooth via the Control Center doesn't disable Bluetooth. You have to disable via settings. The Flipper Zero can also spam Android and Windows devices.

What I’ve noticed is via control center the controls are like “soft keys” and after a while the Bluetooth will reactivate itself.

Best workaround is to create a shortcut to turn Bluetooth and WiFi completely off and put this shortcut into your control center in iOS 18. Finally a useful feature added to the new iOS.

I actually noticed this with my car when I had a wired connection to it. Nice to see other people to turn off your Bluetooth when in public settings

Control center only allows you to disconnect devices. It does not turn off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to do that. You either have to turn on airplane mode that will turn it off or you have to turn it off through the Settings app.

Control center just stops it from creating new connections and disables certain connections such as AirPods. Although it does keep certain connections such as Apple Watch and in this case. NFC connections. Whereas settings disables it completely. That’s why it’s white when turned off from control center and crossed out when turned off from settings

When leaving home create a shortcut that will turn it off automatically and turn it back on when you’re home. Less chances of being attacked at home (but still possible). But outside you sit on a bus or any public places you can get attacked or even followed by marketing that now uses Bluetooth data.

Yeah, that’s truth cause when I had the two AirPods, they were randomly connecting to the phone. You do have to turn it off from the setting to completely turn it off.

yeah if you notice, when you turn off bt or wifi from control center it goes white instead of grey/transparent thats slashed out. I always took it as a temporary suspend kinda thing.

This is a known fact. The button in the Controlcenter doesn’t disables bluetooth it just disconnects all connected devices. This also applies to the Wifi toggle.

if it pops up grey it means its neutral but if you wanna fully turn off bluetooth you needa turn it off in settings, same goes for wifi

Disabling Bluetooth from the control centre explicitly says your Bluetooth will be turned off until tomorrow which means it’s not going to connect to anything but actually the chip might sell. It’s still running. It’s still functioning.

I’ve created an automation in shortcuts app which turns off Bluetooth whenever I disconnect my headphones, so no worries of Bluetooth “just being disabled” or no need to go to settings or remembering to run a shortcut every time.

Control centre's well known for not giving absolute control over the wireless radios.

It's so annoying they did that, I remember in older versions of IOS, when you clicked on the wifi or bluetooth buttons, it would ACTUALLY turn them off, I wish they had kept it this way

Turning off bluetooth and wifi in the control center just disconnects the devices, not turns the service off

as of the most recent version of IOS, you can place a bluetooth button in the control center that turns it on and off without it reenabling
