Ubiquiti gear is awesome nothing beats a nice network installation.

I will say very clean setup. Yet my only issues is if I was going to head down this road like you did. I would pull all the cat5 and run cat8. Other than that very very well done

Ooh a home network vid, and I had to laugh, what are you doing? Stuffing all that kit in that box! Just stick a wall mounted rack up! And voila.. much better and safer. You’ve done a really neat job mate.

Awesome video, looking forward to parts 2 and 3. I'm currently building a house so I'm looking into possible network upgrades in the future. I was thinking about doing an in-wall media cabinet like you had at first, but now I might do a server rack like you ended up doing. The only closet with an AC vent is the master closet, so I'll just have to convince my wife.. ;)

I love this video. I’m a huge fan of FiOS and Ubiquiti. But please just get a TiVo like I did. Using just a moca adapter with your own router causes problems with the boxes, won’t update firmware, no remote DVR, can’t register new boxes, etc. you’ll save money with TiVo’s and CableCARD, you can use Ethernet in every room, just run 1 coax to the main TiVo box and that’s it.

This was a really good video, wheres the other parts? This really comes in handy for a client I have.

Nice job! You need to cover or paint that ethernet cable that is connected to the ONT outside. UV light will degrade the sheathing unless it's UV rated.

Looking Good, I've also updated my system with unifi. The question I have, is where did you pick up the yellow patch cords? They look great...

I agree you should've used rack system to begin with

Very nice! However, the CloudKey isn't designed to be hanging in free space as the cable isn't load bearing. Get a longer cable!

You don't need the UniFi controller for such a small amount of AP's. You can configure them with a software controller and once done just let them run standalone. (Ubiquti Certified installer).

I’ve stopped using the Disc APs. The In wall APs are awesome. Could have saved yourself a load of work there.

Gotta love wireless for slower connections and making it easier for your network to be hacked!

Keeping that Verizon router/wifi thing is a waste of money as you are renting it. Plug your USG into the Fios modem. Use the default WAN settings of dynamic and its plug and play on the USG. It worked for me and I had Fios, the USG and then later upgraded to the USG Pro.
