BEST Putting Drills that will LOWER Your Score || 3 Drills

In this video, Mike teaches you the best putting drills that will help you lower your score on the greens. Too many amateur golfers from 20 to 30 feet from the hole will 3 putt more than a 1 putt. This puts an emphasis on putting the 1st putt to a 3 foot proximity to the hole, then sinking that putt for a 2 putt which is another element touches upon in this video! Mike goes over the "Around the World" drills which solidifies your putts from 6 feet in. He also goes over the "3 to 1" drill that allows you to eliminate stabbing at the ball on those long putts. Try these out and let us know if your score is rewarding you for it!

This is probably the most profound putting lesson I have ever seen. This is straight-up gold!! Again, this is BY FAR the best golf instruction channel on YouTube!!! Thank you for taking the time to produce such great and useful content!!!

I hardly comment on videos. But, I watched this video because I was struggling with my lag putting. Focused on the “big circle” around the hole in my last round and not the hole and shot my personal best 76. Putting was less stressful not worrying about making 20 footers and getting the speed exactly right. Thank you

Great distance control tip using the weight of the putter head to do the work instead of trying to manipulate pace with shoulders

Great video . People say “you can’t putt tentatively “ but when I relax and feel confident, I tend to run it 8 ft past the hole . It’s what keeps me from being a single digit golfer . I’m going to try these tips and I subscribed to your channel.

I’ve heard and observed that most almost all good putters tend to move their head slightly toward the hole on the backswing and away from the hole on the downswing, and that most amateurs do just the opposite. I can see clearly how your head moves. This is something I constantly struggle with, causing off-line strikes and all too often causing the putter to ground-out before the ball. Watching your video reminded me that I need to pay more attention to this. Thanks.

Little bro had a much deeper voice than I thought he was going to 😂. Great video, good timing for me 👀.

I used to use the eGolfring. I have 6', 4', and 18" diameter rings. It helped my distance control immensely. I have stopped using them and now folow Bob Rotella's theories in Putting out of Your Mind. It's a different mindset. I believe doing things in that order, practicing putting to a bigger area than the 4.25" hole, and now trying to hole everything after grooving that speed/distance control, has made me improve my percentage of putts made.

Take that for what it is worth.

I have applied this philosophy in the last 6 months and have gone from 11.6 handicap to 3.8. Admittedly, I didn’t really have much a thought process about putting other than the Happy Gilmore “go to your home”. Great stuff!

I was a pretty good long putter all of my life. One of my keys was to not dwell very long over those longer putts. When you step up to the ball, hit it. The logic behind this is that your sub-conscious knows what to do from all your past experiences. Don't get in it's way by thinking too much. I also think adding just a small amount of extra break at the last minute gets more balls in the hole too. Balls break more than you think as they slow down.

Really explained this well. Like the 3 feet around actually makes it a 6 foot diameter. Great distance wedge advise on other videos as well. Really enjoying you channel. Thank you.

Nice job presenting the info. Simple drills to take to the course and remember the visual of the drill. Thanks! Shaved a whopping 7 strokes off my game this week with this channels tips!

Great drills! Especially like the 3:1 lag putting drill.

Regarding expectation on 15 footers I disagree with you on the attempted two putt - I feel that we should not expect to hole the long putts, and try not to beat ourselves up when we me miss. However, I'm trying to hole every putt! Ha. I don't care how long it is. I do sink some long ones and I think it helps that this is my intention. To each their own though.

Great video though.

Love your teaching ways- personable & use of positive feedback !
A couple of questions- how does one know in that 3:1 method how far to take the putter back ? Also, over the years, I’ve tried to take a longer takeaway but I tend to decel . Thoughts ?

i digress, i have trouble with the 3 & 1 concept/style, the putts "went all over the shop" very long to short. So my question is - Does the backswing have to go back high and finish high as in your demo? i am in the horrors with my putting. On the practice green they are 95% close but out on the course 60% close the other 40 vary from 15 foot past on a 30 footer to 4 foot short on a 12footer.

And how do you do that degree of green reading and not hold up the entire t-sheet?

What if all my putts from 15+ feet go in every time? I’ve been having that issue lately where everything just seems to go in.
