One of my favorite things about Starkiller was what Sam Witwer said about his audition for the role:
They had him act out the scene where Starkiller is meditating and assembling his lightsaber, and he was straining and had a painful look on his face, and when they asked Sam why he was doing it like that, Sam said something like “because he’s a Sith and he doesn’t know how to meditate. Vader would never have taught him to meditate properly, so that’s how he would do it.” And I love that understanding of the character.

Wish there was a R rated movie with Starkiller as the main character

You forgot to mention that Galen’s power with the force was so great that even as a child Vader mistook him for a fully fledged Jedi master and that his father was rather the Padawan he said something to the extent of “I sense a great power nearby where is your master” to Galen’s father

The simple answer: he was Anakin's apprentice, and Anakin was both a sith traditionalist and the most powerful force user of the time. The sith way is supposed to be that the student outgrow the master and eventually kills him to cement his power. Palpatine abandoned this way, but Anakin embraced it.

Fun Fact: He's the only force user that ever scared Boba Fett to the core. Mostly because of the path of destruction Starkiller left in his wake.

I really like the whole notion of never being taught restraint allowing him to push his powers further into their extremes than would otherwise be possible - or at least likely. Galen brings the idea of utilizing the Force as an extension of themselves to a new level. He incorporates it into everything he does almost all the time. Jedi refrain from using the Force like a tool and even Sith will hide their power for a myriad of reasons. Galen uses the Force like he breathes.

Something that gets overlooked a lot is that Ahsoka Tano, apprentice of Anakin, and Galen Marek, apprentice of Vader became hugely powerful dual-wielders who ended up being not quite Jedi or Sith. Anakin’s apprentice had a more light side slant, and Starkiller had a more dark side slant, but both had an awful lot of similarities, as they were undoubtedly their master’s students. Force potential of course helps, but these were both students of one/two of the strongest Force user(s) of all time.

I’ve heard before that the Force is always seeking balance. I always thought that lore wise Starkiller was so strong because the force needed him to be. He was also raised with no ego, constantly being told he would fail, so his drive was unmatched

Much like with maul, Starkiller was trained to be an assassin, a weapon, not a Sith Lord. That’s why he was so good. He practiced combat, not deeper philosophical concepts. 24/7 experience in fighting will get you really well versed.

The way he was trained seems to resemble the philosophy of the ancient sith lords, where personal power was their only goal, and it defiantly shows in him

If they made Rey as psychologically broken and emotionally raw as Galen Marek was both before and after cloning, she might have actually been at least a more interesting character and have a logical reasoning to her absurd outbursts of raw, illogical force abilities.

I believe sam wittwer mentioned that while the character was intensely focused on the power, other abilities eluded him because he could never find any sort of peace. Seeing the future, sensing others and even basic meditation were difficult for him and other more passive abilities were outright lost on him because he was never trained on how to explore them. Where other force users were trained to be precise scalpels, he was a grenade, but that was all he knew how to be.

As palpatine would say it: The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some considered to be unnatural”

If Disney ever makes a Starkiller movie they will destroy his character, it would only be a good movie if George Lucas or Dave Filoni or both directed it

Starkiller is the physical embodiment of the most primal force abilities. He would not reach the levels of GM Luke, Yoda, Vader or Sidious in the more eloquent and knowledgeable teachings, but he would of turned out to be the best combatant. The nuclear warhead of the force.

I remember playing the PS2 version of The Force Unleashed, and thinking how cool it was that force repulse eventually caused things in the environment, as well as enemies, to levitate around Starkiller before being blown away.

It was kinda disappointing that they didn't do the same for the PS3 version, but they changed a decent amount of the game play between the two versions.

Also, its crazy that they really went and made two different versions of the same game for each console

Since, Starkiller embraces neither the light or dark sides that gives him insight on how truly balance both.

Starkiller is easily my all time favorite Star Wars character. Hopefully we get to see more of him in the future.

Galen is one of my favorite characters from Legends. I think much of his power came from being the product of two Force-sensitives, combined with his training from Darth Vader, and likely his repressed feelings concerning his parents deaths. Vader, reduced as he was, was still the second-strongest being alive until Luke fully came into his own. Starkiller is, I think, a glimpse of what Luke could have been if he gave into the Dark Side, a dark reflection so to speak.

Starkiller isnt overpowered. His parents were Jedis who left the order. Having the genes of 2 force sensitive is very good force-potential wise. Darth Vader needed someone with a strong Potential and connection to the force to become his apprentice, he wouldnt choose some weak creature. Thats why he chose Starkiller and trained him for over 12 years everyday. Vader didnt care for meditation and becoming one with the force, he focused on training him on dark-side abilities and lightsaber combat only. The training droid allowed Starkiller to master all lightsaber forms and when it came to dark side abilities like lightning, it was pretty clear that Starkiller was a natural. Even Sidious was impressed because Starkiller invented the "Sith Seeker" something no Sith ever did.

For those who think hes owerpowered: He beat Vader because hes really strong AND because he duelled his master like every day for the past 12 years. He knew every trick and used his speed, agility and a lot of lightning, aka Vaders kryptonite. He didnt win against Sidious. Sidious was testing him, so he could evaluate his Potential, so he could be his new apprentice. Him acting to be beaten was only so he can bring Starkiller back 2 the dark side. But here is why Starkiller is REALLY strong: He resisted the dark side and when Sidious attacked Kota with lightning he selflessly went in between the two and embraced the force for the first time in his life (instead of the dark side). When he went one with the force, Sidious became super scared because Starkiller was able to absorb his lightning. The resulting big explosion killed Starkiller but he succesfully saved his friends, the Rebellion and the reason why he merged one with the force: Juno.
