How Starkiller Base Was Built So Quickly - Star Wars Explained

In Star Wars The Force Awakens, we saw the newly built Starkiller Base, much like the Death Star with some differences, it comes to question just how this MASSIVE construction was made so 'quickly'?
Do you think in The Last Jedi we'll get a new base? Or will they scrap the whole idea and move to Snoke's huge ship? I hope we see Kylo Ren much stronger in this film, and I believe we will soon...Do you think he'll team up with Rey? Will Luke Skywalker show his green lightsaber? So many questions, and only a few more weeks to go until episode 8 is revealed.

I wasn't too happy about starkiller base being a thing, Han Solo even said its just a bigger death star and that there's always a way to blow it up. You'd think the first order would have realised massive superweapons tend not to last too long

They didn’t want to upset the fans and because plot armour is easy to make they could construct it so quickly.

It was built so quickly because the script writers didn't care about realism.

The idea of a planet being converted into a superweapon was actually brilliant.Not having another floating metal orb, they went with a pre-existing floating frosty orb.

The plot of them making another thing like the deathstar only make sense from a military view point, it is a super weapon after all. Just look what happened after we made the first nukes, people wanted that super weapon themselves, so they made them bigger and more powerful.

I liked Starkiller base. I feel like it perfectly represented what the First Order is all about. They are like a new empire, trying to be just like them to the point of having the same ranks and soldier types, but also trying to be better and stronger then the empire was. Starkiller Base is like the perfect, strongest, most destructive version of the Death Star.

+StarWarsTheory, I was wondering if Galen Marek (the clone) could be Rey’s father, because it fits the timeline and if he had a baby girl with Juno then everything makes sense. Her pilot skills come from her mother, while her sensitivity to and strength with the force come from her father. The reason her parents are never coming back is because Juno could have been used by someone to lure in Starkiller and kill him, which would also explain the ship we see flying off in Rey’s force vision. Her mother isn’t coming back because she was killed after her purpose was fulfilled. These two facts can also explain why Maz knows that Rey knows her parents are never coming back. So what do you think?

Well I assume that the empire already was making it then the first order showed up and finished it I mean the Second Death Star only needed less then a few years so I think it makes sense.
