Tessio and Clemensa were openly gripping about Barzinni. Having built such a lifelong relationship with Clemensa and Tessio, Vito could definitely sense that change in them. Vito told them if you trust me, then be a friend to Michael.
We can see that at Vito’s death he was playing with his grandchild. Whereas when Michael dies he’s all alone.
