Thanks! I am wondering, I'm putting a LS6 intake on my LQ4. Can you help me out with how to route the pcv lines? Also, do I need a catch can? IT's going in a 66 C10 i'm doing. Thanks, you have great content!!!

DO NOT remove, grind, sand or otherwise modify the reinforcing ribs on the base of the manifold. Modify or replace the steam tubes with an external design that does not run under the intake. The engineers are paid a squilion dollars to design a plastic inlet manifold which can reliably withstand the heat in this application. Removing these ribs simply degrades the structural strength under high temperatures and the floor of the intake will warp.

Consider the reality, a flat design would be so much easier and cheaper to produce, however in this application, GM's analysis determined their liability risk didn't make good business sense. It was cheaper and easier to retain these ribs from the earlier design than the cost consequences of a major recall due to intake manifold warping.
