This video will show you how to work out the area of a right angled triangle. To do this you will need to know the base length of the triangle, and the perpendicular (height). Just multiply these measurements together and divide the answer by 2.

So in example 1, the base lenght of the right angled triangle is 8cm and the vertical height of the triangle is 3cm. So 8 multiplied by 3 is 24, and half of 24 is 12cm^2.

In example 2 the base of the triangle is 6cm and the vertical height is 8cm. Dont use the slanted height of the triangle. So 6 multiplied by 8 is 48, and half of 48 is 24 cm^2.
