Make sure to leave your $0.02 in the comments and I KNOW you want to make fun of my Rudolph the Reindeer Nose from a sunburn scab, LOL! It's my goal to respond to ALL COMMENTS left on the day I post a new video even if you are just making fun of me!! 🤣😂

I love that you started with just listing them all out!!!! Great video from the beginning! Also, GREAT call out on the fact that dividend growth will not just continue linearly forever!!!! Also, you did a fantastic job of headlining that which parts were facts and which parts were assumptions, and even being SUPER transparent about where the assumptions could fall short! I really appreciated the humility there!

Excellent analysis, Joe, as always. I appreciate this video because I finally have 100 shares of SCHD in my roth to start selling covered calls. All thanks to your teaching.

Well done as always. I own SCHD and VYM but i sell my covered calls on all my dividend holdings more strategically and keep it very passive (go out 4 to 6 months or even longer) and I actually prefer VYM over SCHD for cc writing but its close.

Selling CCs on these long term hold dividend ETFs is a great way of amping up the returns on them.
I have owned VIG for several years so the decision of which one to use for this strategy is made for me.
I use my initial cost when calculating returns rather than current price so my number looks a little better.
I use the conservative approach around a 10 or 12 delta which usually gets me a .5% return per month without any worry of it getting called away.
Easily adds 6% to whatever the annual dividend yield is. Am interested to see how AAPL impacts VIG overall.
I am really glad you made this video - good to know others are using the same strategy.

Love your channel, and love the math you do around each topic. Nicely done.

Joe, I have tried many different dividend calculators online and they all provide different results. Is there one that is correct?

Very nice! I'm doing strangles, and SCHD would make a nice stabilizing stock to the portfolio...

I'm trying to do this for SPY in retirement. Right now wanted to practice on SCHD but I'd have to move 100 shares out of M1 into Robinhood and I'm reluctant. Great video. With that cash flow wouldn't a income play with a high yield return the same with no stress?

First, I really apricate your videos and look forward to learning a lot of what you are teaching so thank you. I can see the profit that you can make using this strategy. I have a question that I cannot get passed. Why would we do this when there are professionally managed covered call ETF's that do quite well and their expense ration is very little. You have made videos about some of them. I must be missing something, what is it, what is the advantage of doing this yourself or just owning a covered call ETF??

Hey Joe. I'm a newbie - forgive me. I've watched several of your videos about selling covered calls. I'm clear on how you make the premium, but I'm still at a loss on the best strategy for re-entering and buy in again without a loss in capital investment. As I'm evaluating the process, you make the premium while the share price increases. Do you just wait until a drop in order to buy in a again? That could take some time if a fund keeps going up I suppose.. Or, am I missing something?

Have you ever looked into the ETFs that do the covered calls within them? Like BDJ. I was looking at these over the weekend.

Hi Joe, New to the channel and love the content! I recently retired and trying to live off my investments. Do you think it is safer to sell call options against SCHD etf or is it worth the extra work (and added stock risk) of buying individual dividend stocks and selling calls?

I know it's not an ETF but what do you think about WBA as a covered call dividend stock? Dividend aristocrat (I think), current dividend yield of ~5.3%, and weekly options.

I have Roth 403b invest 600$/ month now!

Do you think I should contribute 400$ more in my Roth or I invest in taxable ? So it becomes 1000$ per month

I also have Roth IRA 7k per year.

The matter here is if I don’t put 400 to Roth 403b, I’m planing to buy all in SCHD $70k and contribute 1300$ per month! Do you think it’s good! I don’t know tax, how % tax for long term invest if I keep it!
I NEED YOUR OPINION!

I appreciate your take on DGRO…while not a bad ETF…it is terrible for options and I know from first hand experience. Sold it and put it into a dividend stock that sold weekly options. Agree with your assessment SCHD is king for dividend ETF options despite only offering monthly options. Do you think if volume increases weekly options might get offered?
