Kora, a bakery in Queens, is known for doughnuts filled with traditional Filipino flavors. Kimberly Camara runs Kora out of her small apartment where she, her boyfriend, her mom, and some extended family work tirelessly each week to pump out over 500 donuts to eager customers. While the doughnut flavors change week to week, the signature leche flan doughnut is the star of the show, it’s a brioche doughnut filled with leche flan cream, topped with leche flan and burnt caramel, and then sprinkled with powdered sugar.

This entire story of how she loved her grandmother so much and now gives the world a taste of what made her so happy is so cool. 💕

Kudos to the boyfriend for supporting this Filipina's heritage through food! "Lola" is surely looking down from heaven, with a wry, loving smile of Filipino Grandmothers, whispering "do it right, or else!" 😁

This is the beginning of Kora's Donuts. Then a year later, they operate in a cloud kitchen to fulfill bigger orders and their customer base grew over time. Great job! Maybe in the future when I go to NYC. I will order a box of these.

The moment I read 'leche flan' in the title, I instantly became intrigued. Clicked in the speed of a lightning bolt.

I am a Filipino living in Jacksonville, Florida and I am blown away. This is a wonderful tribute to her Lola and this brings the flavors of traditional Filipino desserts and elevates them into a more available form we have almost every day. If they ship to Florida, I would order some of those in a heartbeat.

Grandma's recipe book will never fail you. Inspiring story of people making an opportunity out of the pandemic and at the same time having Kimberly's grandma immortalized through the food they make.

I just watched another, more recent video on Kora, where the crew is still working hard, but now in a commercial kitchen. It's really gratifying to see this success.

My coworker before is a Filipino and every time we have a party from work, she usually brings lots of food and I tried the pancit and bbq pork that’s so delicious and I love how they care about us. I mean all Filipino are so hospitality. Tbh 🥰

These are the type of chefs who truly inspire while paying homage to grandma's recipe. Unlike the "fancy" upturned nose chefs who would put gold leaf and caviar on a donut.

4:10 The swearing had me sold. Not that I didn't wanna try them before because they look tasty but when someone swears because of a dessert you know it's really good. I love that they're using her grandmother's handwriting in their logo. That's sweet.
