The Falklands were ours before the Spanish.Argentina has no right to claim them at all

You cannot claim an island that was inhabited by others 50 years before your country formed

The Falkland Islanders wanted to remain British. They did not want to be on Argentinian.

There was no such thing as a small war in the 1980s because of the constant fear of one conflict setting off a domino effect that would bring NATO countries and Soviet Union into direct conflict. It was very difficult to gauge how the Soviets would view and react to any conflict. Even though the Soviet Union had no known direct interest or alliance with Argentina, there was the fear that the Soviets could enter on the Argentinian side simply to oppose the UK and NATO.

The scale was modest but the interarms cooperation and coordination was epic.

The will of the people not some idealised claim of ownership

True on the domino effect risks being triggered but in comparison to most other wars duration wise it was small for this one yet the fact that it could have potentially escalated into much more severe circumstances was always present as a possibility

How is it self determination when the Argentinians themselves are colonialists who took the land they call home from native tribes LoL

Argentina in its current state would never be able to reclaim anything. Never seen a country with so abundant resources falling into such an economic disrepair. Try stay financially solvent.

It was a small war because we didn't take Argentine territory. We should have made it a larger war.

In some ways there ate no "small" breaches of previous agreement by force. And the smaller breach of territorty in miles and the lower the number of civlians one tolerates to be harmed before using restorative force the greater the number of civilians and territories world wide will be protected from such transgressions.

These British are crazy to think they can retake the Falklands (to liberally sumsarize one contemporary American military report).

Sure buddy, crazy like a fox.
