Razer finally made something I want! - Razer Viper Mini SE

Razer might get some flak for being one of the most "gamery" brands out there, but their new Viper Mini SE mouse seems like it could be something special. With a magnesium body, great sensor, and various software features, will David be impressed or is the price tag too high?

Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.

The most impressive feature a mouse can have is not using the skates as screw covers.

I like the steel-wheel i hope other brands implement it. The plastic ones are such gunk collectors and are impossible to thoroughly clean.

Optimum tech did a test on the smart tracking thing and it does make the signal much more consistent although it only makes a small difference but in the end small differences are still differences

If only Razer put as much effort into their products as they did for their packaging

Edit: I've never actually used a Razer product before KEKW

If anything, this makes me wish we could have a controller with a premium high poll rate gyroscope.

Should have the Lab test the glass feet vs the ptfe feet.

I wouldn't worry about corrosion. the anodizing process creates a protective layer on the alloy.

Didn't this guy 'meh' on a Starlight mice? Charge him $100 more dollars, make it come from Razer, make it EVEN more limited, give it to him more than a full year later with some minor generational upgrades on the sensor, and he'll gush over it.

I know this is a small critique I’d appreciate a bit more research. The bottom of the mouse is plastic not for cost savings, rather for the wireless since if it was full magnesium it can drop out connection. Same for the final mouse which has resin bottom

Mag alloy has been common in construction tools for years with no noticeable corrosion in the areas I touch.

Magnesium is a metal that in time will evaporate on it own. And it is flammable it is what they make road flares out of. Now other metals rot away but not magnesium it goes to a gaseous state. So the metal part that craps the finish off the magnesium exposes the metal starting the evaporation. Now you can use clear finger nail polish to seal it back up and you should. And if you smoke keep it away from the mouse because that would be a really bad fire that your home fire extinguisher may not put out.

I forgot that the main gamer complaint is that their mouse shell isn’t rigid and perforated enough.

A LOT of vape mods are magnesium alloy. I quit vaping last year, started in 2015. From my experience the finishes never hold up for shit. I have a draw of mods that looks like they were in a war. Just from daily use.

Amazing mouse, but Razer really missed the mark on why the Viper Mini was so popular. The price point. The shape is pretty safe but not for everyone, but at such a cheap price and just a solid overall mouse, it was very hyped and recommended widely.

Unfortunately, Razer saw this as a kind of push for the best of the best in a mouse, influenced by the hypebeast Finalmouse magnesium alloy mice, and perhaps innovation by the likes of G-Wolves' many ambitious strides. They made this.

Sure you can argue that the many polls taken by Razer to the community over the development caused this, but they were blindsided by buzzwords... lol anyways theyre working on a non magnesium one soon, for the average consumer.

Did they put in a scroll wheel that actually works? Because hopefully they fixed it if money doesn't matter, since the £65 quid I paid or mine isn't enough for it to be functional

After many years of Logitech mice (and keyboards) I decided to give Razer a try with their Basilisk V3 mouse. Wowzers! I like it so much more than my Logitech stuff. I am probably still in the honeymoon stage of ownership but I don't think I have ever liked a mouse this much this fast before. I am considering giving one of their keyboards a try but don't have a good excuse to change out what I am using at this point.

smart tracking is actually a big pluus, raw accel is still used a lot for my friends and that helps getting rid of it.
