What is a Nonprofit Organization?

What is a nonprofit organization? If you are starting a nonprofit organization or thinking about starting a nonprofit organization, you should know the basic definition so you understand the nonprofit startup process. We often use some words interchangeably, like not-for-profit, non-governmental organization, or charity without understanding they have distinct meanings. In this video, I break down the basic definition of a non profit so that you can understand what is a nonprofit.

Hello, I have a question miss. I have a nonprofit that I am looking to file as 501c3 now. I have heard that I need a corporation or LLc. I already have a corporation for over 20 years now. It is filed as a for profit corporation. Can I use this corporation in my filing? I know I need a new EIN but do I have to pay again for a corporation? I hope not. I live in Atlanta, GA.
